Carrying away the summer
on geese’s wings
I hear them calling
for the warmth they miss
Chasing through the skies
I want to follow them
on the breath of autumn
To places filled with love
Their sound one of longing
and change

But I’d miss the fiery coat
that this land has dressed itself in
and the gentle caress
of the fireplace
licking at my skin
Staying or leaving
the duality within
